When you come to the Country Ramble, you'll meet a lot of Woodbury Lions Club members. They'll accept your registration, give you a number, point you in the right direction and even feed you afterwards. That up front visibility is minor compared to their behind the scenes activities, starting with lining up our terrific sponsors. |
|
Donations have been made to our local libraries, the Highland Mills food pantry, the ALS Foundation and summer camp for the hearing impaired. The Lions grant scholarships to graduating Seniors at M-W High School, sponsor programs for special ed. students at BOCES and to help local kids attend Camp Rez. Over 500 pairs of used glasses have been collected, so their lenses can be recycled into new glasses for the needy. Woodbury Lions have made possible eye exams and glasses for elementary school children, as well as hearing aids for children and seniors. A new program supplies phone cards to our soldiers to ease the cost of phoning home. |

Lion Frank Reynolds congratulates Lion Walter Ruigrok, age group winner Lion Mike Coren, and Lion Craig Torrie. |

Healthy food, high in anti-oxidants, waits at the finish to replenish your carbs. (The hot dogs are around the corner.) |
